Indian coal reserves allow fuel exports to begin by fiscal year 2025-2026, TASS reported.
Minister of Coal, Mines and Parliamentary Affairs Pralhad Joshi He stated that there are significant thermal coal reserves in the country to start selling. Experts estimate that there are 361 billion metric tons of coal. This is enough to turn from an importer to a fuel exporter.
Under the “Self-sufficient India” state program, new coal mines will be opened and production will increase in existing coal mines. According to the minister, thermal coal production will reach $1 billion in the next fiscal year.
The increase in Russia’s oil imports to India was known before. In February, figures reached a record level of 1.6 million barrels per day. Russia has been India’s largest supplier of crude oil for the fifth consecutive month.
