Cabbage prices in Russia fall for the fourth week in a row

There is a decrease in the cost of cabbage in Russia, this trend continues for the fourth week in a row, citing data from the Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat), RIA Novosti.

In addition to cabbage, fresh cucumbers and tomatoes are also cheaper. But potato prices continue to rise. However, in the reporting week, apples also rose – 1.47% and bananas – 0.72%.

“In contrast, the price of beet fell by 1.31%. The average price of carrots in Russia increased by 0.37%. According to the report, onions became 1.6 percent more expensive.

Overall, fruit and vegetable prices were down 0.2% during the week, but rose 0.6% a week ago.

The Russian government had previously decided to create a network of food markets across the country to reduce spending on food products.
