The goth-glam makeup trend has become increasingly popular this season: easy to create with black eyeliner, shaded eyeshadow and dark lips. Gigi Hadid knows it well when she showed up at the CFDA Awards sporting a Thom Browne look, a fake nose piercing and a gorgeous (her) interpretation of glam goth makeup. “The bad air,” he captioned the photo on Instagram. The creator of this look was the make-up artist Patrick Ta, who gave clues on his social networks about what was used for the model’s makeup. It’s a very intense gray, less aggressive than, say, a black lipstick could be. Makeup experts actually saw Hadid’s choice as an ode to the absence of rules in makeup today. And indeed, in recent seasons, as evidenced by the different makeup on the catwalks, it seems that really anything goes and no color is off limits. Not even the most daring combinations.
And it is not the first time that the model has been seduced by the gray on her lips. Gigi has reverted to grey, so much so that she wore the same nuance back in 2017. But in a different context: focusing everything on the look with lots of mascara and a dark eyeliner to better define the eye.
