Hospital admissions due to covid continue to fall in Italy, while intensive care occupations are stable. This is evident from the weekly monitoring of the control room of the Ministry of Health

There was a slight increase in the weekly incidence at the national level, which rose from 207 to 231 cases per 100,000 inhabitants from December 23 to 29. In the period between 14 and 27 December, the mean Rt index calculated on symptomatic cases remained stable at 0.83 (range 0.77-0.99), below the epidemic threshold. The Rt transmissibility index based on hospitalization cases increased slightly, from 0.87 (0.84-0.90) to 0.90 (0.86-0.94) from December 20 to 27. This is evident from the weekly monitoring of ISS and the Minister of Health.

Hospital admissions and intensive care

The activity rate in intensive care units remains stable at 3.2%, according to the daily survey of the Ministry of Health on January 5, compared to that of December 29. The employment rate in medical areas across the country fell from 13.0% on December 29 to 12.1% (daily survey on January 5).

At high risk Lazio, Apulia and Umbria

Lazio, Puglia and Umbria have been classified as high risk for the three days due to multiple resilience warnings. As of December 30, none of the regions were at high risk. Moderate risk regions increased from 5 to 12 (Abruzzo, Basilicata, Calabria, Campania, Emilia Romagna, Marche, Molise, autonomous provinces of Bolzano and Trento, Sicily, Sardinia and Veneto); 6 regions are at low risk (Friuli Venezia Giulia, Liguria, Lombardy, Piemonte, Tuscany, Valle d’Aosta).
