WBA, WBO and IBF heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk defeated Anthony Joshua in a tough fight. During a boxing evening in Jeddah, a charity Usik Foundation with the support of Parimatch Ukraine and MEGOGO He collected 17 million UAH for the purchase of vehicles for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Viewers of the broadcast had the opportunity to donate to the collection and collected a total of 6.4 million UAH. In addition, Parimatch Ukraine joined the campaign and provided support of UAH 5 million, while platform customers donated an additional UAH 1.2 million. In addition, the media service MEGOGO, the official broadcaster of the challenge, transferred UAH 4.7 million of advertising funds provided by broadcast advertisers. This partnership is a synergy of sports and business.

The evening in Jeddah was full of emotions. Among those who supported Oleksandr Usyk in the hall of the King Abdullah Sports City complex were 10 soldiers from the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Border guards from various regions of Ukraine undergo rehabilitation after injuries of varying severity, and positive emotions are another tool for a speedy recovery. He met these guys at the hospital while the boxer was still in Ukraine, and they convinced him to continue preparing for the fight with Joshua.

Oleksandr Usyk’s partner, Parimatch Ukraine, covered all the costs of organizing a trip to Saudi Arabia for the Ukrainian Armed Forces. After the fight, the guys were able to personally meet the boxer and congratulate him on his victory. Another pleasant surprise for the military was the meeting with American boxer and multiple world champion Evander Holyfield, where the men took a group photo and also wore a green border guard beret on him.

Recall that the Usyk-Joshua fight lasted all 12 rounds and ended with the victory of the Ukrainians by a split decision of the judges – 113-115, 115-113, 116-112. After the fight, Usyk said that he dedicated the victory to the whole of Ukraine!
