The English club announced on Tuesday that the Portuguese football star Cristiano Ronaldo and the Manchester United team have ended their cooperation by mutual agreement.

Ronaldo represented Manchester United for two terms, from 2003 to 2009 and from the summer of 2021 to the present.

In total, Ronaldo, now 37 years old, played 346 matches for the famous English club and scored 145 goals.

“The club is grateful for their tremendous contribution,” the statement said. “We wish him and his family the best for the future.”

According to the BBC, Ronaldo has so far had a seven-month contract with Manchester United for a salary of £500,000 (€577,000) per week.

Given that his contract has been terminated, Ronaldo will be able to join another team without a buyout fee payable by the player’s next club.

Ronaldo has recently publicly criticized Manchester United in an open conversation with TV personality Piers Morgan.

Just last summer, Ronaldo did not hide his desire to leave the Manchester team, but now it has happened and the Portuguese football player needs to look for a new job.

While the newborn son of the football player died in April, his daughter was hospitalized 3 months later. Ronaldo did not hide that the club did not show empathy for him during this difficult period.

The football player explained that although Ronaldo understandably wanted to spend time with his family, there were doubts at the management level of the club about the reasons for not coming to the team’s pre-season training.

Returning to the “United” team last year, Ronaldo has already played under three coaches. He stated that he had nothing but great respect for Uli Gunnar Schulscher, but not much good to say about his former teammate’s successors Ralf Rangnik and Erik ten Haag.

Ten Haag suspended Ronaldo last month for refusing to play against Tottenham Hotspur. The player stated that he does not respect his current coach.

The football legend, on the other hand, spoke even more harshly about Rangnik: “If you’re not even a coach, how can you be the boss of Manchester United? I’ve never even heard of him.”

Overall, Ronaldo did not hide his horror at returning to the club where he once reached the highest heights.

Ronaldo has made 10 appearances in the English Premier League this season and has scored just one goal.

Ronaldo is currently in Qatar, preparing to compete with the Portuguese national team in the World Cup.
