The Latvian national team’s veteran defender Mārcis Oš will play for Latvian football club RFS next season, the team reported.
RFS has signed the 31-year-old football player with the possibility of an extension for another year until the end of the 2023 season.
Oš played in Jūrmala’s films “Jelgav” and “Spartax”, which he also finished this season during his career. New to the Premier League, RFS made 181 appearances, scored 21 goals and collected 11 assists.
In 2014 and 2015, Oš was the winner of the Latvian Cup under “Jelgavas”, and in 2015 he also won the honor of the best defender of the Premier League.
Before last season, he represented Switzerland’s second division Stade Lausanne Ouchy, and before that the defender had played for another Swiss club, Lugano.
Throughout his career, Oš played outside Latvia for the Polish club “Gornik” in Zabže and “Xamax”, a unit of the Swiss high league in Neuchatel.
Oš played 20 matches for the Latvian national team.
Playing in the UEFA Conference League group stage last season, RFS finished third in the Latvian Championship, but failed in the Latvian Cup final.
