Milan, how much it costs me in the Champions League: tickets more expensive than Inter and it’s a controversy

It will be the seven days of Milan, before kick-off. Then the fans hope that we can go even further, after celebrating on the pitch. By Milan-Naples from April 12 a Inter Benfica of 19: San Siro prepares for two special full houses, typical of the big Champions League evenings. And then the eye can only fall on the ticket price, given that what is about to end was the week of pre-emption for season ticket holders. Same round (quarter-finals), same city and stadium, but how much differences in prices.

Milan best store

Milan fans will not be happy, forced to empty their wallets more consistently. Let’s start with the least expensive places, those in the third ring. If Inter puts them on sale for 45 euros, the Rossoneri increased them to 59 (although it must be said that for the Devil’s supporters the same price also applies to the second level, with the Nerazzurri increasing it to 55 in that case, so the difference there is minimal). The gap widens when we look at the family sector: the first green ring for Milan-Naples is available for 99 euros, for Inter is enough 59. If the first green ring and the first blue ring are the same (99 euros on both sides), for the first lateral orange, Inter stops at 99, while Milan asks for 119. This difference of about twenty euros more requested by the Rossoneri is also recorded for the second orange, the second red and the first orange.

What a difference with the more exclusive tickets

Milan becomes even more expensive in the most exclusive sectors. Inter’s orange armchair is on sale for 169, Milan increases to 209. A range of 40/50 euros is also available for the central orange armchair and for the red armchair. The difference amounts to 70 euros for the central orange seat x (229 Inter, 299 Milan), as it rises to over 100 for the central red armchair (Inter at 285, Milan at 389).

In short, a striking but not surprising difference in treatment. Just a month ago, on the occasion of Milan-Tottenham, the Rossoneri set the absolute record for revenue in Italy (more than 9 million, or 122 euros in average expenditure for each one-way ticket). Even the small shareholders raise their voices: «We cannot but express our sincere concern about the cost of tickets, also given the new stadium – as stated in their press release – Milan needs a new state-of-the-art infrastructure that will support the sporting ambitions of the club and the dreams of the fans. However, the new stadium cannot and should not be accessible to a few to the detriment of the millions of Rossoneri fans. The cost of tickets will have to be limited in order to maintain the popular character of football. In this sense, the Milan-Naples match will indicate the club’s intention regarding the relationship with the fans and their involvement with the Rossoneri house».
