The Ministry of Education and Science (İZM) has prepared a draft government decision to allocate 576,717 euros, which is double what was previously planned, to the Latvian hockey team and the Latvian Hockey Federation (LHF).
It is planned that the players of the Latvian national team, their coaches and the personnel serving the third-placed athletes in the World Championship will receive 220 thousand euros, and the federation will receive 356 thousand 717 euros.
In addition, 250 thousand euros of the amount allocated to the federation in the cooperation agreement signed between İZM and LHF will be transferred to the hockey training process of children and youth, and 106 thousand 717 euros will be transferred to the federation. Hockey development with at least 50% reserved for the preparation of young athletes.
It is necessary to allocate money from the state budget for unforeseen circumstances.
It has already been reported that the Latvian national team finished the championship in third place, beating the Americans 4: 3 for the bronze medal.
It became the most successful championship of all time for Latvia. Previously the best result was seventh place, which was won three times.
