Svitolina reportedly showed a finger to the Russian woman at the end of the match instead of the traditional handshake. Blinkova also nodded in understanding, and both sides remained uncomplaining.
However, those who watched the match did not like this attitude of the Ukrainian tennis player. After such gestures they booed Svitolina loudly.
The Ukrainian won at Blinkova with scores of 2:6, 6:2, 7:5. He will play Russian in the next round on June 4 Daria Kasatkina.
Former Russian representative Aslan Karatsev lost the second round match of the same tournament to an American Francis Tiafoe.
