A project institutional, international and transversal because it brings football back to television in the form of Reality show: thus «The Italian Dream» was born. Launched by Lega Serie A together with Starzplay – broadcaster for the Middle East and North Africa – and endorsed by government agency Image Nation Abu Dhabi, it is a new original sports-themed reality series.
Twenty-one years later «Champions, the dream»a program that launched the link football reality show, this type of football is back on screens. Experienced, not just played. Hopefully unscripted but with the cameras always on and ready to highlight the talent and stories of the participants, because it’s still a show. «Campioni» offered participation in the training camp of Juventus, Inter and Milan as a prize, while «The Italian Dream» instead can sign away a contract with a Primavera team of a Serie A club.
Who will participate in the reality show?
As the title says, the dream is Italian but the participants come from there Middle East and North Africa. “By telling the stories of dreams and ambitions of a group of young talents, ‘The Italian Dream’ will strengthen the everyday bond between Serie A and football fans in this part of the world where more than 50% of the audience of the public. 30 years – explained Luigi De Siervo, CEO of the Lega Serie A -. Above all, this series represents the desire of the Lega Serie A to invest in the talents present in the MENA region, through theopportunity for the best young local players to grow, learn and showcase their skills in one of the most important football competitions in the world.”. For three months (e.g 6 episodes) a contract with a Primavera team of a Serie A club becomes the goal of these boys who will compete in a series of elimination rounds to reach the final to be played live in Abu Dhabi. Among the testimonies is Francesco Totti: «I had the pleasure and privilege of playing with champions like Salah and Benatia and I know well how this geographical area has produced great talents – said the former Roma captain – as the recent World Cup confirmed with the excellent performances of Saudi Arabia and Morocco.” Could he also become an involuntary assist to Roberto Mancini for his national team? Maybe. Meanwhile, the League is in the hunt for the Middle Eastern champion and promotes an international show that offers this (almost) completely Italian dream.
