According to information compiled by the National Health Service, the number of Covid-19 patients treated on the last day in hospitals in Latvia fell from 390 to 345. In Latvia, a total of 37 Covid-19 patients were hospitalized in the last 24 hours, and 70 were discharged from hospitals.

Of all hospitalized Covid-19 patients, 133 have a basic diagnosis of Covid-19. Of those initially hospitalized with Covid-19, 123 had a moderate course of illness, and ten had a severe course of illness, with more than a day before.

According to data compiled by the Center for Disease Prevention and Control (SPC), it was reported that 696 new cases of Covid-19 were registered in Latvia in the past day and information about four dead patients was received.

A total of 3956 Covid-19 laboratory tests were performed per day, of which 17.6% were positive. Of the new infections reported the other day, 184 were unvaccinated or had not completed the vaccination process, and 512 were vaccinated against Covid-19.

The two-week cumulative morbidity rate fell from 470.8 to 457.1 per 100,000 population the previous day.

The seven-day cumulative disease rate per 100,000 population also increased from 190.8 to 217.45.

One of the four deaths was between the ages of 60 and 69, two between the ages of 80 and 89, and one between the ages of 90 and 99. One of the deceased was not vaccinated against Covid-19 or did not complete the vaccination course, and three were vaccinated.

A total of 5,728 people infected with Kovid-19 have died in Latvia so far.

The SPCC has previously announced that there may be inconsistencies in death data – delays of one or a half month. Information about deceased patients is also collected from the Causes of Death Register, which contains information on absolutely all deaths, including Covid-19, for which there were no previous reports. SPKC data comes mostly from hospitals and nursing homes that have reported deaths.

There is also a significant number of people reported to have a death-promoting factor in Covid-19.

Since the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic, 816,994 people in Latvia have been laboratory-confirmed with the disease.

According to the LETA agency, 4,117 people were infected with Covid-19 in seven days.
