Former goalkeeper of SM-League club TPS Andrey Kareev has decided to return to the Continental Hockey League for political reasons.

The Russian goalkeeper, who extended his contract with Finland’s vice-champion for two seasons, came to the leadership of TPS and demanded that his employment contract be terminated as soon as possible. The managers were surprised and demanded that Kareev pay the club the amount of his annual salary. Salavat Yulaev Ufa, who signed a contract with the goalkeeper on June 3, is likely to do so. According to an authorized journalist of the Sport-Express edition, the amount of the fine was about 100-150 thousand euros.

It was previously learned that Russian hockey player Evgeni Malkin could extend his contract with Pittsburgh. Information verified by The Athletic.
