Music streaming giant Spotify has announced new features coming soon to its app. It’s called “Your Offline Mix” and is ideal for those who want to listen to their favorite songs without an internet connection.

This feature is a response to the Offline MixTape feature introduced in Youtube Music from 2019. Even though it’s a few years late, I think all Spotify users without a data plan will be happy with this new feature.

Offline Mix is a new testing feature in the Spotify app

The news was announced by Spotify CEO Daniel Ek via social network Twitter. The head of the Swedish service said in its publication that ‘Your Offline Mix’ is in the testing phase.

As execs say, this will be a playlist designed for when internet connectivity is not available. Therefore, it relies heavily on your offline music library.

Apparently, “Your Offline Mix” creates a mix of songs stored on your device. However, the question arises whether this will become a feature available to all Spotify users.

Remember that only Spotify Premium users can download songs to your device. Free model users can only download podcasts.

The TechCrunch publication notes that the “Offline Mix” has already been rolled out to some users, with mixed feelings. There are also reports from users claiming that 90% of his content appearing in the mix isn’t even present on his device.

As Spotify’s CEO pointed out, this is still a testing feature. In fact, some rough spots need to be smoothed out until the desired result is achieved for the enterprise. At this time, we still don’t know when it will officially launch.
