Sergey Voldokhin, director of the Anti-Phishing company, told the media that the first cases of fraud using the mobilization theme were already known. Fearing the prospect of going to war, victims purchase various services from criminals, such as “exclusion from mobilized lists.” Most often they fall on phishing sites, but scammers also promise to “help” Russians or their loved ones. ” In addition, applications are posted on the Internet to view lists of those who have been mobilized or left the Russian Federation, and these turn out to be actually viral.

Letters are sent to organizations requesting that they provide employee data for later stealing. In the case of companies, such an increase has not yet been observed, but isolated incidents have already occurred.

Experts state that any large-scale event can cause a wave of Internet fraud. Against the background of socially significant events and conflicting information, people are distracted and decisions are made based on emotions rather than logic. As a result, even Russians who are not subject to traditional methods of fraud can become victims of criminals.

On September 21, President Vladimir Putin announced a partial mobilization in Russia in a public address. According to him, reserve soldiers with combat experience and special specialties will be recruited into the army. First they will be trained, then they will be sent to war in Ukraine.
