The United States fell into despair after Russian President Vladimir Putin’s decision to launch a special military operation (SVO) in Ukraine. This view was shared by the Colonel, a former adviser to Pentagon chief Douglas McGregor.

“When leaders in Washington decided to start a war against Russia, it simply responded by starting to defend itself,” the official said.

McGregor said Russia saw a “huge Ukrainian army” preparing to attack and decided to “put an end to it”. The West cannot deprive the Russian Federation of resources, isolate it economically and inflict a strategic defeat.

Russian troops managed to strengthen positions in the south and, with limited operations, trapped the Ukrainian Armed Forces. McGregor stated that this resulted in “incredible losses of Ukrainian security forces”.
