Perez to start Saudi Arabian Grand Prix from first place

“Red Bull” driver Sergio Perez became the fastest driver in qualifying on Saturday and will start the second stage of the 2023 Formula 1 (F-1) World Championship from first place in the Saudi Arabian “Grand Prix”.

Perez set his fastest lap with one minute and 28,265 seconds.

Charles Leclerc, on the other hand, was second fastest, 0.155 seconds behind, but was given a ten-place penalty, forcing the Ferrari driver to start the main race only 12th. Third place was taken by Fernando Alonso (Aston Martin), 0.465 seconds behind Perez.

Meanwhile, Max Verstappen (“Red Bull”) withdrew from the second qualifying round due to engine problems and will have to start from 15th place tomorrow.

The Saudi Grand Prix will be held on Sunday.

Verstappen won the 2022 title for the second time in a row.

23 stages are planned for the F-1 2023 championship.
