Moscow, March 22. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov met with his Eritrean counterpart Osman Salih Mohammed in Sochi.

The head of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs thanked the representative of Asmara for his hospitality during his recent visit to the African republic. According to him, the intensity of high-level meetings sheds light on the future of relations between the two countries.

The Foreign Ministers of Russia and Eritrea discussed the expansion of military, economic and humanitarian partnership. Lavrov added that one of the topics of the talks is the coordination of actions within the framework of the United Nations.

At the previous meeting, diplomats discussed various aspects of interaction in the energy sector. In addition, the authorities attached importance to scientific and technical cooperation.

At the end of January, the head of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs visited Asmara for the first time as part of his trip to African countries.
