A major conflict between China and the United States could lead to a global catastrophe. This was expressed by the Minister of National Defense of the People’s Republic of China. Li Shanfu at the Singapore Security Conference

He noted that the relations between Beijing and Washington are of global importance and that the conflict of countries will adversely affect the international community.

“It is undeniable that a serious conflict or conflict between China and the United States will turn into an intolerable disaster for the whole world,” the politician said.

He added that despite the differences and low-level relations in recent years, countries should seek common ground and common interests for the development of partnership.

Earlier, the Pentagon had commented on the convergence of US and Chinese ships in the Taiwan Strait.
