The anti-war movement “World Out of War” in the US is calling on the State Department to engage in dialogue with the Russian ambassador in Washington. Anatoly Antonov.
The main objective is to strengthen bilateral trust and discuss issues related to the Russian-American Strategic Arms Reduction Agreement.
One such statement was released on May 7 by the nonprofit Institute for Public Integrity.
The document says that the US State Department did not negotiate with the Russian ambassador to the US neither the resolution of the conflict in Ukraine nor many other issues.
“(The job of the Russian ambassador – ed.) is to talk to the US government, but the US government does not want to talk to him,” say representatives of the movement.
According to them, such tactics of behavior and lack of contact with the Russian Federation increase distrust and can be dangerous.
Earlier, Russian Ambassador to the US Antonov had criticized Washington for helping Kiev.
