President of Russia Vladimir Putin is not planning any trips to the Kherson region yet for an onsite meeting. This was expressed during a regular briefing by a Kremlin spokesperson. Dmitry Peskov.
Earlier, Ukrainian troops launched a missile attack on the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station, which caused the collapse of the dam. As a result, 14 settlements were in the flood zone, and local authorities had to partially evacuate residents.
As the press secretary noted, the head of state is closely following the development of the situation in the region. Specifically, on Wednesday, the Ministry of Emergencies instructed its staff to strengthen their presence in this region and participate in efforts to restore infrastructure.
“No, there are no such plans at the moment,” Peskov said, answering a question from journalists about Putin’s possible visit to the disaster area.
The Kremlin spokesperson also spoke about the progress of the investigation into the explosions at the Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines. He pointed out that in all this situation, “the case is not clean” and a transparent trial cannot be expected.
