North Korean authorities have launched an investigation into the talent show of the North Korean military, who sang and joked like artists from neighboring South Korea during the talent show. The publication states that in 2020, the North Korean authorities passed a law to eradicate reactionary thought and culture due to the state leadership being wary of the younger generation. The law regulates a wide variety of “crimes” related to viewing, possessing or distributing media broadcasts from capitalist countries, particularly South Korea and the United States, and provides for the maximum death penalty for serious “criminals”.

Meanwhile, journalists noticed a new assistant surrounded by DPRK head Kim Jong-un – a 30-40-year-old official with glasses, dressed in a black suit, with a file next to the republican leader when he delivered his speech.
