According to forecasters, ice melt is expected in many parts of Latvia in the second half of this week.

The weather is mostly cloudy with light rain expected in some places. According to current forecasts, there will be more precipitation Thursday evening and Friday – snow, some sleet as well. Icing often forms on roads.

Winds will be slow, which will allow fog to form as the air becomes humid in the second half of the week.

In the first half of the week, the air temperature will drop to -2..-7 degrees at night. If the sky is clear, the thermometer will drop a few degrees lower. While the maximum air temperature will be +1..-4 degrees, it will rise to +2..+3 degrees from time to time on the Kurzeme coast of the Gulf of Riga.

On the other hand, while the weekend air temperature is not expected to drop below +1..-4 degrees at night, it is expected to rise up to -1..+4 degrees during the day. Kurzeme will probably warm a few degrees more.
