According to the Ukrinform agency of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Ukrainian army simultaneously eliminated more than 100 Russian aggressors in the Soledar region. Independent direct verification of similar information on the parties to the conflict is not possible. Fighting continues for the town near Bakhmut in eastern Ukraine, according to the Ukrinform agency.

“This happened thanks to the coordinated work of special operations forces soldiers, artillery and rocket launchers,” said the Ukrainian General Staff. Said. “The operators of the special operations forces of the Ukrainian army detected that the enemy was gathered in various regions. In the statement made by the Ukrainian army, it was said, “The artillery was used to destroy the enemy, and the Tochka-U tactical missile system was used in one place.” It does not say what period it was. They claim to have eliminated more than 1,000,000 Russian soldiers, two machine guns and two mortar squads.

In its morning operational briefing, the Ukrainian General Staff mentions Soledar only in context, where it says that this city and other villages in the region were bombarded by occupation troops with tanks, artillery or mortars. Ukrainian officials previously denied on Tuesday the claim of the head of Wagner’s (with Russian transcription) private military company, Yevgeny Prigozhin, that his troops had seized control of “the entire Soledar region.”

The Russian Ministry of Defense also reported on Wednesday that the battle for the city continues. But Prigozhin repeated his claim about the breakthrough in Soledar on Wednesday evening, according to the AP agency. “Once again, I want to confirm that the territory of Soledar was completely liberated and cleared from the units of the Ukrainian army,” wrote Prigozhin on the social network, where he claimed that the Ukrainian soldiers who did not want to surrender were destroyed. According to him, 500 people were killed.

The Ukrainian General Staff reported in its morning operational review that, among other things, Ukrainian defenders repelled Russian attacks in 12 municipalities in eastern Ukraine, including Bakhmut.
