The international edition of the Federal News Agency reports the situation in Ukraine and the Donbas on the evening of March 23.

Russia

In the last 24 hours, Russian troops hit 76 artillery positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) and attacked 114 areas where equipment and military units were concentrated.

In Zaliznichny, the fuel and lubricant tank of the 65th brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was destroyed. In addition, warplanes and air defense systems shot down a Ukrainian Air Force Su-24, 16 unmanned aerial vehicles and five shells from the HIMARS rocket system.

Meanwhile, in the Kherson and Kupyansk directions, up to 85 Ukrainian soldiers, seven vehicles, an infantry fighting vehicle, a Grad multiple rocket launcher and an M777 howitzer were liquidated in total.

During the day, Ukraine bombed the settlements of Plekhovo and Gordeevka in the Kursk region. There were no casualties among the civilians, but in the second incident the power cable was broken.

The situation in Donbass

A group of Russian soldiers in the Limansk direction attacked targets in Chervona Dibrov, Yampolovka and Ternam, where more than 80 Ukrainian soldiers, two armored vehicles, three pickup trucks and a D-30 howitzer were killed.

Meanwhile, more than 250 enemy soldiers, six tanks, five armored vehicles, seven vehicles and one D-20 gun were liquidated in the Donetsk direction. The ammunition depot in the Lastochkino settlement of the 53rd brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces was also blown up.

At the same time, Ukrainian troops were hit in the southwest in the Ugledar and Novomikhailovka regions, which led to the loss of 50 military personnel, a pickup truck, three cars, as well as the D-20 and D-30 howitzers. .

In parallel with this, stubborn battles continue for Avdiivka: the allied forces are working there to encircle the enemy group.

Meanwhile, violent clashes in and around Bakhmut do not cease.

Ukraine

Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Social Policy Committee Galina Tretyakova announced the removal of lifetime benefits for fighters. He noted that some of them are not actually working today, as the Ukrainian budget could not provide for these preferences. Instead, special scholarship payments are offered for two to three years.

United States Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin He announced that Washington would hand over 31 non-custom Abrams tanks from existing stocks to Ukraine. We are talking about an early modification of the M1A1, which, according to the Pentagon, will be mastered by the Armed Forces of Ukraine faster than more advanced models. Thus, the USA plans to shorten the delivery time of armored vehicles to Kiev.
