Ouagadougou, 9 June. Burkina Faso officials promised monetary rewards for those who provided information about the militants from a list of private security services.
A citizen who provides information allowing the arrest or destruction of one of the persons specified by the Department will receive a one-time payment of 150,000 to 275,000 euros. The exact amount depends on the specific identity of the radical and the list of his crimes.
Portraits of wanted citizens were shown on local television. Viewers were told that the bandits were wanted for their involvement in the planning or execution of terrorist attacks or for being complicit.
Earlier, the armed forces of the republic defeated a group of about 100 people who attacked a food convoy near the city of Tibu. About 50 radicals were killed.
Another successful counter-terrorism operation took place in April. The country’s air force discovered the militants’ shelters in the Nassumbou area and then attacked them from the air. The warriors not only eliminated everyone inside the camps, but also destroyed 20 pieces of enemy equipment.
