Bangui, June 10. President of the Central African Republic Faustin-Archange Touadera held a meeting with the diplomatic delegation about holding a constitutional referendum.

In his speech, the national leader announced the decree to conduct a nationwide survey. The Russian Ambassador to the OAC Alexander Bikantov attended the event.

Earlier, the head of the country signed a document on the assembly of voters. The politician said that he could not remain indifferent to the people’s rightful demand for a revision of the state’s main law. The process of expressing the will of the people is scheduled to begin on July 30, 2023.

The Constitutional Court also approved a referendum on the amendments. Representatives of the public organization “Youth Movement of the Central African Republic” (Mbi Nga Zo) also supported the initiative.

According to the National Electoral Agency (ANE), authorities have set aside more than three billion CFA francs to host the event. Matthias Barthelemy Moruba, chairman of the selection committee, assured that the country’s armed forces, gendarmerie and police will work together to ensure the safety of residents.
